HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

This Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course provides you with the skills to perform CPR on a person who is unconscious and not breathing normally. Upon completion, you will have confidence in your knowledge and skills to perform CPR on an adult, a child and an infant, and be able to describe alternative methods for delivering rescue breaths and how to manage a victim of drowning.

Assessment is through a combination of practical first aid activities and a written test paper. You will be required to demonstrate CPR on a manikin on the floor.

Duration

  • Complete E-Learning, and
  • 2 Hours attendance for practical assessment, or

HLTAID003 Provide First Aid

This first aid course covers a comprehensive range of subjects to enable participants to confidently manage emergency situations and provide a first aid response to a casualty. It covers the most common first aid injuries and illnesses. It is suitable for both people in workplaces and members of the public who want training in first aid. (This course was previously known as Senior First Aid, Workplace Level 2, and Apply First Aid.)

This course is appropriate for experienced first aiders and people who complete their training regularly.

Assessment is through a combination of practical first aid activities and a written test paper. You will be required to demonstrate CPR on a manikin on the floor.

This course is specifically designed to meet the needs of people working in the childcare and early childhood learning industry. This course is tailored towards anyone working with children. It covers child specific first aid in many high-risk areas such as anaphylaxis and asthma as well as common injuries and resuscitation. The Australian Children’s Education & Care Authority (ACECQA) has endorsed this course as meeting their requirements for anaphylaxis, asthma, and first aid training.

Assessment is through a combination of practical first aid activities and a written test paper. You will be required to demonstrate CPR on a manikin on the floor.

HLTAID005 Provide First Aid in Remote Situations

This first aid course is specifically designed to meet the first aid needs of bushwalkers, wilderness guides, and people who work or live in remote locations. The course covers everything from comprehensive first aid treatments to aeromedical evacuation, long-term care, self-care and contingency planning. This course is focused on the safety of the first aider and extended care of an ill or injured casualty where help is likely to be delayed or inaccessible.

Assessment is through a combination of practical first aid activities and a written test paper. You will be required to demonstrate CPR on a manikin on the floor.

HLTAID006 Provide Advanced First Aid

Provide Advanced First Aid is appropriate for people who work in high-risk areas, act as first aiders to larger facilities or groups, or work in areas where help may be delayed or have difficulty accessing casualties. This course covers a broad range of advanced skills and provides you with high-level skills in management of large incidents, major trauma, sudden cardiac arrest, emotionally disturbed and drug affected casualties.

Assessment is through a combination of practical first aid activities and a written test paper. You will be required to demonstrate CPR on a manikin on the floor.

HLTAID007 Provide Advanced Resuscitation

The Advanced Resuscitation course is a course designed for experienced first aiders who use specific equipment and often work in higher risk environments. This course develops advanced skills for providing life support and focuses on the use of oxygen delivery systems and in-depth knowledge and skill in the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED).

Assessment is through a combination of practical first aid activities and a written test paper. You will be required to demonstrate CPR on a manikin on the floor.
